The Audio Experiments of Jeff Danos

Post-wreckage update

It's hard to believe that it has been so long since I last posted an update. Unfortunately, last month we had a large oak tree fall into our house as Hurricane Ike passed over our town. The hurricane had actually been downgraded to a tropical storm, after traveling roughly 700 miles across land, but that didn't stop it from knocking down more than half a dozen trees in our yard. They were all large oaks, and every one of them was lifted out of the ground, leaving the rootball exposed. It was a frightening experience to have one of them come crashing down into our kitchen in the middle of the night.

In addition to the kitchen, the breakfast area, my son's bedroom, and the studio experienced some damage. I had to remove the acoustic treatments from the studio, we've been re-texturing an painting, and it has been difficult to get much audio work done. I have been working on a remix for the band Burikusu, though (mostly on headphones and in the wee hours of the early morning). It is for a remix contest, and I am excited at how my mix is turning out so far. Their music is slick and quirky.
